Moorlands Housing Association, a member of Harvest Housing Group has recently provided vital funding for the popular Biddulph Citizens Advice Bureau outreach services, based at Biddulph Resource & Information Centre and at Biddulph Council’s Connect One-Stop-Shop, which will secure their future for a further two years.

The generous grant contribution made by Moorlands helped to secure an additional donation by ‘Give it Sum’, a charity fund, which was set up by Robbie Williams. The joint funding means that the outreach services, which are an important addition to the bureau’s main services, will continue to assist clients with budgeting, benefits advice, appeals, representation at tribunals and problems with Tax Credit overpayments.

An added advantage of the sessions at the Resource & Information Centre is that clients can phone the centre to make an appointment, a facility that is especially useful for vulnerable or disabled clients who find sitting in a busy waiting room difficult.

Commenting on the donation, Nick Grubb, Regional Regeneration Manager at Moorlands Housing Association said:

“We strive to offer any assistance possible to our residents, including those requiring guidance regarding financial matters. It is important that people feel they have somewhere to turn to where all advice given is confidential, impartial and independent. This service is essential and we are delighted that it will continue to offer help to people in the Biddulph area”.

The funding for this service is part of a wider initiative of assistance in Biddulph. Moorlands Housing employs Neighbourhood Regeneration Officers who work with Housing Officers and agencies such as the Citizens Advice Bureau to support the community in Biddulph.

Moorlands Housing customers can also receive help from Money Advisor, Jenna Cunningham by calling: 01538 380638.
