Residents of Grove Village in Ardwick, Manchester are benefiting from Police drop in sessions at the Ida Kinsey Village Centre. This latest initiative ensures residents feel supported and confident within their neighbourhood.
Residents are invited to attend the sessions on a monthly basis and are given the opportunity to speak with the Police face to face. Each attendee is seen on an individual basis, enabling them to share any confidential information with the Community Police team.
Thanks to the partnership between Grove Village and the Police, there has been an increase in attendees to the drop-in sessions since they began 6 months ago, a real testimony to residents’ confidence in the initiative.
Peter Harrison, Regional Regeneration Manager at Grove Village said:
“A recent Satisfaction Survey revealed that 72% of residents were pleased with how their views are taken into consideration, compared with 64% previously. Initiatives like the Police drop-in sessions go a long way to achieving such opinion and feeling amongst residents”.
Grove Village is a £100 million housing PFI scheme which is radically transforming the former inner city estate of Plymouth Grove into a thriving urban village. The area has undergone an intensive programme of refurbishment, regeneration and building new properties for sale.
