Leading names in the construction industry were out in force on Tuesday night at The 14th Annual Building Awards, held in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, and Grove Village were the proud recipients of one of the prestigious awards.

The awards are extremely sought after and are designed to celebrate and reward best practice, innovation and excellence. Grove Village, the Private Finance Initiative that is successfully transforming a previously run down, inner-city housing estate in Manchester into a sustainable, mixed-tenure, well-managed urban village was nominated for the ‘PFI Project of the Year’ award along with two other nominees and walked away victorious.

The ‘PFI Project of the Year’ category was open to all types of projects that had been completed or partly completed between September 2006 and October 2007. Projects were judged on design, sustainability, innovation and construction performance.

Commenting on their win, Grove Village Chairman, Ian Perry said:

“We are enormously proud of this award and it is a great testament to what we and our partners are striving to achieve which is not only to improve standards of housing for both tenants and residents, but to develop attractive and safe communities where people enjoy living and wish to remain.”

Ian Perry adds:
“This award is a great reflection of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by all involved in delivering the scheme, and we intend to continue to build on this success over the coming years”.

PRP Architect was appointed lead designer for the consortium made up of the MJ Gleeson Group, Harvest Housing Group and Nationwide.
