Residents of a Hyde neighbourhood will be taking inspiration from the Chelsea Flower Show on Tuesday 3 June as they create tubs and baskets full of floral delights. The community event, which has been organised by Manchester & District Housing Association, a member of Harvest Housing Group, will see the enhancement of the properties and their surroundings. Improvement work has already begun on a small vegetable patch in part of the grounds, an idea that would even get the Jamie Oliver seal of approval!

Commenting on the project, Diane Russell, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for M&D said:

“We have organised several of these community planting events at various properties across the area. They have a really positive impact on residents who always comment on how simply planting a few flowers can help to boost pride in their neighbourhood”.
