> It’s Bloomin’ Brilliant In Norton!
Residents of a Norton neighbourhood took inspiration from the Chelsea Flower Show recently as they filled numerous wooden plant containers with floral delights for the community to enjoy. The event was organised by Norton Residents’ Association, with the support of Moorlands Housing (a member of Harvest Housing Group) and has enhanced properties and their surroundings.
Moorlands Housing donated funds for the event, enabling the purchase of the plant containers. The Housing Association is currently working in partnership with Stoke on Trent City Council Neighbourhood Renewal Team as part of a comprehensive regeneration project in the area.
Commenting on the project, Andrew Weetman, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Moorlands Housing said:
“This is a small project but it will make a big difference to the area. We are delighted to be involved in such events which improve not only the appearance of our neighbourhoods but also help to increase residents’ pride in their surroundings”.
After the event, Norton Residents’ Association donated a number of the planters to 3 local primary schools in the area.
