> Everybody Needs Good Neighbours
Following European Neighbours’ Day on May the 27, and as part of their ongoing commitment to improving the neighbourhood, Grove Village in Ardwick, Manchester will be launching their very own Good Neighbour Agreement amongst residents on Saturday May 31.
In signing up to the Good Neighbour Agreement, residents of Grove Village will agree to the importance of specific standards of behaviour. Keeping the neighbourhood clean, tidy and safe, treating neighbours with respect, having a sense of community spirit, helping each other and looking after the environment are just some of the community issues being addressed.
The launch day will be a celebration of the positive work achieved so far by both staff and residents at Grove Village and will include a community barbeque, side stalls and a free prize-draw to win a £50 ASDA voucher for people signing up to the agreement. Local steel Band The Cherry Pickers will also be on hand to provide some entertainment.
Grove Village is a £100 million housing PFI scheme that is radically transforming the former inner city estate of Plymouth Grove, Manchester into a thriving urban village. The area has undergone an intensive programme of refurbishment, regeneration and building new properties for sale since work began in 2003.
