A former Workington resident and Derwent & Solway Housing Association tenant has today been issued with an Interim Injunction Order from Whitehaven County Court following months of disruptive and anti-social behaviour.

The Injunction was granted on Mr Raymond Adams, of 14 Trinity Court in Workington, after he persistently ignored instructions to improve his behaviour within and around the property and following several arrests made by police for a series of crimes.

Mr Adams had been involved in several violent disputes with his partner at the property and his actions had caused much distress for other residents. It was also revealed that he had been arrested for other various criminal offences.

Case Management Officers working for D&S, and Police Officers worked together, leading eventually to the successful outcome.

Following the granting of the Interim Injunction Order, Robert Porter, Director of Derwent & Solway Housing Association said:
“We take a very strong position in any case of this kind where any of our residents’ lives are disrupted by the behaviour and actions of a neighbour. In granting this Interim Injunction Order, the court has made it possible for residents to continue with their lives free from the unrest this man has caused”.

The Interim Injunction Order prevents Mr Adams from: engaging or threatening to engage in conduct causing or likely to cause a nuisance or annoyance to anyone living in Northside, Workington, using or threatening violence against residents and damaging property. He returns to court later this month for a further hearing.
