Manchester & District Housing Association has started building the first of several new housing developments in Partington. The multi million pound investment project is being supported by Manchester & District Housing Association (a member of Harvest Housing Group), and The Housing Corporation. Manchester & District Housing have invested approximately £1.2 million.

The extensive work started on site last month (May). The site of the former Squires Public House is being completely regenerated, providing seven new two-bedroom bungalows available to rent. The homes will be ready for new residents to move in next year, during Spring 2009.

Furthermore, Manchester & District Housing Association are planning on constructing new homes at Wood Lane, Laurel Walk and Erskine Road in Partington beginning this Autumn. The new homes will be ready in Autumn 2009.

Overall, this work will represent an investment of £2.3 million by Manchester & District Housing Association. Of this, The Housing Corporation is investing £911,000 of grant funding into the regeneration of Partington.

Kate Forrester, Director of Manchester & District Housing Association, said:

“ We will be talking to local residents about other potential regeneration projects over the coming months as their input is invaluable. We have further projects planned across Partington, which will include new homes for rent and for low cost sale. The majority of these projects are set to take place over the next five years. It’s a very busy and exciting time for Partington! ”
