> Local Pupils Help to Brighten up the Community
When: Tuesday 1 July 2008 – 9.30am.
Where: Horsecroft Crescent (Junction with Haregate Road), Leek.
What: Environmental Tidy-Up for Leek Neighbourhood.
Pupils from Leek High School will be teaming up with members of Moorlands Housing to improve the appearance of an area in Horsecroft Crescent in Leek tomorrow by pruning, removing litter and tidying undergrowth.
The event, which is being supported by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, will take place thanks to the partnership between Moorlands Housing, a member of Harvest Housing Group and Leek High School. It will see pupils, teachers and representatives from Moorlands Housing working together for the benefit of the community.
Commenting on the improvements, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Moorlands Housing, Andrew Weetman said:
“This event will give a great lift to the immediate area and will help to improve the appearance of Haregate. It will also give some local young people the opportunity to get involved in some positive community work which is so important”.
