‘Make a Positive Contribution’
Moorlands Housing, a member of Harvest Housing Group have demonstrated a continued commitment to local neighbourhoods by donating £1050.00 towards the cost of three activity days held at Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre on the edge of the Peak District.
The generous contribution enabled 30 youngsters from the Norton area of Stoke-on- Trent to take part in a fun-filled day of challenging and adventurous outdoor activities and made it possible for them to gain a ‘Making a Positive Contribution’ Stoke Youth Award from Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Youth Services.
A range of positive group activities was on offer at the event for the enthusiastic young team taking part, including kayaking, archery, climbing and crate stacking.
Moorlands Housing were delighted to support the event which they believe will have positive benefits for the youngsters taking part. The Norton area has previously witnessed some negative behaviour from groups of local youths and it is hoped that such confidence and team-building events will discourage such anti social behaviour.
Commenting on the event, Andrew Weetman, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer at Moorlands Housing said:
“We are committed to supporting local young people and involving them in positive schemes such as Stanley Head that encourage constructive activities and help them grow into active and responsible citizens”.
