> Neighbourhood Blooms Recognised at Awards Ceremony
A group of residents from Keeling Road in Cheadle are celebrating after being awarded a Merit Certificate at the Heart of England in Bloom Awards Ceremony held in Burton on Trent on Thursday 11 September, the second such achievement for the group.
The Keeling Road Neighbourhood Group is made up of residents of Moorlands Housing, a member of Harvest Housing Group, and they were recognised for their continuing hard work and dedication to improving their environment with the addition of plants, tubs, shrubs and rockeries.
Judges at the Awards Ceremony said of the floral achievements:
“The area of Keeling Road continues to be a credit to all the residents of the 24 bungalows who have taken part in the campaign. There is a strong sense of pride and enthusiasm from all who have taken part. The tubs around the green and the front gardens give the residents a wonderful outlook at all times of the day. They continue to strive to improve their environment”.
The Neighbourhood Group were announced as runners-up in Harvest Housing Group’s Montgomery Neighbourhood Awards in 2007 and were awarded £1,000 to spend on planters and benches. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength, much to the delight of residents.
