> Alterations and Improvements
You don’t need our permission to decorate your home, but if you want to improve it in any other way you must ask us first. We won’t normally refuse, but a competent person must do the work to a good standard and it must comply with any building, gas or electric safety requirements and with planning regulations.
Note: your rent account should be clear before you spend money on any improvements.
Please contact our staff at Harvest Response to discuss your ideas.
Compensation for improvements
If you later decide to leave your home, you may be entitled to compensation for improvements you have paid for, if certain conditions apply. However, you won’t get compensation if you are applying to buy your home under the Right-to-Buy scheme.
For more information about the Right-to-Buy scheme, please contact Harvest Response. They will explain who you need to speak to.
Note: please get our consent before you start any work to your home. We only give compensation where we have first given consent.
