> M&D Continue Their Commitment to Providing Quality New Homes
Partington saw the start of the construction of 12 new homes yesterday, part of a multi-million pound investment project in the town by Manchester & District Housing Association, a member of Harvest Housing Group.
The new build project that will take place over the next year will represent an investment of £2.3 million by Manchester & District Housing Association. It is one of a number of similar projects that will ultimately provide the area with a range of high quality homes available for rent.
The official sod-cutting event held to signal the beginning of construction work of the 12 new bungalows on Wood Lane was attended by representatives of M&D, Partington Housing Association, Construction Company G&J Seddons and the local Residents’ Group.
Mark Rogers, Property Regeneration Manager at M&D said:
“The work at Wood Lane is part of a number of larger housing developments across Partington and demonstrates our ongoing dedication to providing high quality homes for local people. Partington Housing Association and M&D Housing Association are committed to transforming housing in the area for many years to come and are delighted to see work getting underway.”
Bolton based Construction Company G&J Seddon will carry out all building work of the 12 new bungalows and the 37 week programme will also include the construction of all associated external works.
Ian Matthews, Contract Manager at G&J Seddon added: “It is M&D’s mission to improve the environment of those who live in the Partington area, and having an appropriate range of good quality housing is a key element to their strategy. As a contractor with extensive experience in this area of work we are looking forward to being able to deliver 12 new bungalows which will help achieve this aim.”
The 2 bedroom bungalows will be built using traditional brick and block construction with tiled pitched roofs and upvc windows. A solar thermal heating system will also be installed for hot water, helping to achieve code for Sustainable Homes 3 star accreditation and further demonstrating Manchester & District Housing Association’s commitment to providing energy efficient homes.
