Harvest Housing Group have recently unveiled a stunning piece of artwork at their central office in Manchester by award winning artist Pam Ibbotson, after commissioning the artist to produce a piece for their newly refurbished reception area.

Artists from across the region were invited to send their suggestions for an original piece of artwork to Harvest earlier in 2008 through the Housing Association’s resident magazine ‘The Link’. Pam, a Harvest resident living in Derbyshire, immediately contacted them with her inspirational ideas and details of her award winning work and it wasn’t long before she started to put together the piece that now hangs impressively for all visitors to the Housing Association to view.

Commenting on the artwork, Harvest Housing Group Chief Executive Ian Perry said:

“We required something interesting and modern for the new reception area and wanted to try and involve our residents in some way. We decided to use our popular resident’s magazine to help us achieve this and we are all delighted with the result. Pam has produced a truly one off piece that was inspired by the beautiful Peak District landscape”.

A member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art, Pam has been painting for over 20 years and has exhibited widely at many noted events and venues, including the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition and the Quaker Gallery, London. Art experts including the Guardian’s Robert Clark, who compared Pam’s visionary sense with Van Gogh, have acclaimed her work and she has received a number of awards, including the Manchester Academy Major Award.
