This week (Wednesday 11th February 2009), Harvest Housing Group made a generous £500 donation to a Manchester based homeless hostel for men, to help them purchase books for their brand new library.

The Limes provides supported housing for 26 young homeless men between the ages of 16 and 30 from the UK, Eritrea, Somalia and Burma, and as part of Christian Alliance Housing it specialises in providing accommodation and support services to meet a wide range of needs.

Mr Ian Perry, Chief Executive of Harvest Housing Group presented Pauline Gaye, Project Manager at Christian Alliance Housing with the cheque at The Limes. Yorick Williams, a part time member of staff at The Limes, Cllr Bernard Priest, Executive Member for Finance and Human Resources at Manchester City Council, Elaine Karagah, Deputy Manager at The Limes and Brendan Thomason, a resident at The Limes, were also present at the official donation handover (please see photograph attached).

Commenting, Ian Perry, Chief Executive of Harvest Housing Group said:

“We recognise the many difficulties faced by homeless people and are very keen to support The Limes in their efforts to help create a pleasant and stimulating environment for the men staying there.”

Harvest Housing Group were made aware of the Homeless Hostel through Cllr Bernard Priest, Executive Member for Finance and Human Resources at Manchester City Council and expressed an interest in making a donation to assist them with their work.
