This is the third year that Manchester & District Housing Association have worked in partnership with Tameside Council and other RSLs in Tameside to promote the gardening competition to their residents, several of whom will be entered into the borough wide finals where they will compete with entries from the other partners taking part.

M&D will hold the first stage of the gardening competition across Tameside and will judge entries from a number of categories: Best Patio/Yard, Best Individual Front Garden, Best Individual Back Garden, Best Communal Garden, Best Tubs and Baskets, Best Young Person’s Garden, Best Environmentally Friendly Garden and Best Produce Garden.

Commenting, Diane Russell, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer at Manchester & District Housing Association said:

“Our aim is to encourage and support our tenants to create gardens that enhance their community, benefiting not only the individual but the wider neighbourhood. We are really looking forward to receiving the colourful and attractive entries that do not fail to impress us every year”.

To assist their tenants in tending their gardens, M&D offer a free garden tool hire service to all their tenants. Tools are delivered and collected free of charge and delivery can be arranged by contacting 0161 419 6400.
