> New Partington Homes Officially Unveiled By Rt Hon Beverley Hughes MP
Rt Hon Beverley Hughes, MP for Stretford and Urmston officially unveiled a brand new and significant development of bungalows and houses in Partington on Friday 21 August.
The development of 23 bungalows in Partington is part of four new-build projects in the town in recent months, developed by Partington Housing Association, a member of Harvest Housing Group.
The projects represent a total capital investment of approximately £3.3 million by the Housing Association and have served to completely transform a number of former derelict areas of land in the town into thriving communities.
Commenting at the official opening ceremony, Beverley Hughes MP said:
“Partington Housing Association and Harvest Housing Group have been steadfastly committed to the refurbishment of many homes in the Partington area and are now demonstrating their commitment to providing fantastic new build homes such as Coppicewood Close for those wishing to stay in the town and those returning to the area to be nearer family. These homes would only be possible thanks to Government funding through the Homes and Communities Agency and I am sure the new residents are eager and happy to make a great contribution to the community."
During the opening event, invitees including Ms Hughes were taken on an official tour of the town and introduced to the other new developments situated at Laurel Walk, Squires Mews and Erskine Road. They were also introduced to several new residents, including Mr and Mrs Edwards who will shortly be moving into a bungalow on Coppicewood Close.
Commenting on their new property, Mr Edwards said:
“Myself and my wife, Sylvia are so very impressed with our new home. We are over the moon and my wife said she has never seen such a big kitchen! We are both really looking forward to our retirement years in the neighbourhood near to our families.”
The four new developments represent a total of twenty-three bungalows and three family homes and include innovative features such as solar thermal water heating systems to reduce carbon emissions.
Mr Ian Perry, Chief Executive of Harvest Housing Group said:
“These key new housing developments in Partington have provided people with high quality homes to suit their needs, including several family-sized properties that were an important requirement for the town. We are committed to the further introduction of similar projects in the area over the coming years and look forward to the continued improvements of community life for present and future generations.”
Also present at the event were representatives from G&J Seddons Ltd who constructed one of the developments. Alan Taylor, Senior Contract Manager said:
“I am delighted to see the completion of these new homes for Partington and to meet some of their future residents. They have been built to the highest standards and features such as the solar heating systems at the properties on Coppicewood Close will enable the scheme to meet the Homes & Communities Agency Code For Sustainable Homes, something we are fully committed to.”
