Stockport RSLs and Stockport Credit Union launch New Awareness Leaflet

Several Stockport Registered Social Landlords, including Manchester & District Housing Association, a member of Harvest Housing Group, have joined forces with Stockport Credit Union to produce a new leaflet informing their residents about the advantages of the Credit Union. The leaflet was launched on Tuesday 1 September and then distributed to RSL tenants across the borough. The principal messages within the leaflet are ‘secure saving’ and ‘low cost loans’.

Manchester & District Housing Association first became involved with Stockport Credit Union in 2007 and have since organised a joint training course regarding the benefits of credit unions. The two parties have been working together with the other RSLs to promote the advantages to their residents and the new leaflet is a culmination of the partnership.

Stockport Credit Union is a not-for-profit community savings and loans co-operative which is owned and controlled by its members. Savings are secure and payments can be conveniently made into an account at one of a number of local collection points across the borough or by standing order.

Within the new leaflet, residents are also informed of the low cost loan facility on offer at the Credit Union that has an APR of 12.68%. The amount people can borrow is dependent on how much has been saved with the Credit Union and how much people can afford to repay.
