Oakwood Action Days A Resounding Success

Frontis, a member of Harvest Housing Group, took part in two successful community tidy up events in Oakwood, Warrington recently.

The Oakwood Action Days were coordinated by the East Neighbourhood Action Team and were intended to spruce up the area and collect a number of abandoned supermarket trolleys.

The Housing Association worked in conjunction with Birchwood Town Council, Warrington Borough Council Enforcement Team, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire Service, Cheshire and Warrington Probation and local residents.

Frontis provided five skips for the event that were filled with litter, debris and leaves. Residents were delighted with the results.

Local children joined in enthusiastically on the Action Days and Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Frontis, Bernadette Bell, said: “These events will hopefully encourage more people to be responsible with litter. By involving the younger members of the community we aimed to promote good citizenship and pride in their neighbourhoods. They thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
