Derwent & Solway has found its own dynamic duo to host the regional heat for the ‘H Factor’ talent search.

Ben Brinicombe, Projects & Regeneration Manager will be co-hosting the event at the Theatre Royal in Workington on Wednesday 27 July along with Mark Barrow, a Case Management Officer in the Community Safety team.

Ben has some experience of live performance having taken part in amateur theatre, at the Edinburgh Festival and once even did stand up comedy at a singles dating festival in Cleator Moor!

Mark is new to the stage but sees himself as the next Ant or Dec. “I’m doing this for my family, I want this so much!” he said in true ‘H-Factor’ style.

Ben and Mark are looking forward to their new presenting roles but they need people to sign up to take part in the talent show. “We’ve had some interest from around Workington so far but we need more people to send in entries,” says Ben.

Neither Ben nor Mark will be giving up their day job any time soon though. “I’d like to say Ben’s stand up comedy is a joke – but that wouldn’t be true…. at all” said Mark.

The Derwent & Solway ‘H Factor’ talent show will take place on Wednesday 27 July from 7pm at the Theatre Royal in Workington. The winner will be decided by a panel of local judges and a public vote.

The winning act will receive a prize and go on to perform at the Harvest Housing Group final in Manchester on Saturday 3 September during the annual tenant fun day.
