Certain groups and individuals may face racism, victimisation or unlawful discrimination because of their sex, marital status, race, colour, nationality, citizenship, ethnic and national origins, disability, sexual orientation, age, convictions, religion, language, culture, physical or mental health, economic status and so on. We believe this is unacceptable.
We take a zero-tolerance approach to all racial and other harassment. If you witness or experience harassment, either to yourself or others, please don’t suffer in silence – if you tell us, we will help you. We are committed to turning homes and neighbourhoods into places where people want to live and choose to stay. This means an environment that is free from racial and other harassment.
We want everyone to feel confident about reporting incidents to us.
Harassment can take many forms – it can be written, verbal or physical. It may take the form of graffiti, threats or attacks on you or your home. Harassment can happen in your home or neighbourhood and anyone, young or old, could commit or suffer harassment.
How to report harassment
You can report harassment to any member of staff at Harvest Response or in our neighbourhood offices. Our staff are trained to deal with your call and will arrange for a Case Management Officer to contact you within 24 hours to discuss things with you. If you need an interpreter, we will arrange this. If we visit you, we will always show you an identity card and will respect your home, privacy, customs and culture.
If you prefer, you can email us at: response@harvesthousing.org.uk or write to us at: Harvest Response, PO Box 593, Preston PR2 2WU
You can also report incidents to the police, a support or advice agency or a specialist harassment unit.
