> Parent to Parent Merger Talks Begin
Following the successful establishment of the PLUS/Harvest Development Partnership both Groups are beginning detailed talks about merging the two parent organisations to form a new organisation. Discussions are at an early stage but there are clear indications that a merger could build on their mutual and complementary strengths and that the unique blend the merger may bring would deliver significant value and benefits to the communities served by both organisations.
The new Group would be a major player with scale and strategic influence. It would own and manage 24,000 homes across the North West, positioning it at the heart of the Northern Way as both a delivery agent and intelligent contributor to policy development in the sector.
The vision for the new venture is to build an exciting new organisation which enshrines the common values held by both Harvest and PLUS.
PLUS Chief Executive, Ken Perry who is project director for the merger talks, told us:
“This is an exciting opportunity to create something really unique. Our shared values, commitment to neighbourhoods and ambition to deliver excellence will form the blueprint of the new organisation”.
Ian Perry, Harvest’s Chief Executive, said:
“The potential fusion of both groups is a reflection on the changing format of the sector. We recognise that by combining these two successful and ambitious organisations we can build something which can respond to and lead change in this dynamic sector”.
