A weekend of fun-filled activity is planned at Bacup Leisure Hall, Thursday 3rd March – Saturday 5th March, as part of the local Neighbourhood Management scheme being run by local housing association Eaves Brook.

Eaves Brook, a member of Harvest Housing Group, are working in partnership with Rossendale Borough Council to deliver Neighbourhood Management to the area, which means they want to hear what you think about where you live. They want to know of any problems or concerns you may have and would like to know of any improvements that you would like to see in the area.

Eaves Brook’s Neighbourhood Management teams are operating throughout Lancashire with local residents encouraged to call in to their local office and chat to their team.

Rossendale’s Neighbourhood Management team are located at 17 Market St in Bacup and staff there have been keen to organise this weekend extravaganza to promote a sense of community and help get everyone involved.

Lisa Duffy, Neighbourhood Manager in Bacup comments:

“We’ve got so many events going on over the 3 days that I’m sure everyone will find something that they’ll enjoy. Not only that but we’re also keen to meet as many members of the community as possible to hear their thoughts about Rossendale and how we can help.”

Events will include a GI Jive Night on Thursday 3rd March 7.30pm – 10.30pm, which will take you back to the dance halls of the 40’s and 50’s for a night of dancing, prize bingo and a hot-pot supper.

Friday Night is one for all the family with a Family Quiz Night running from 6pm – 9pm, including karaoke, games, prizes and a DJ.

The family theme continues into Saturday, with a morning of family activities from 9am – 11am. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, art & crafts and much more!

Saturday afternoon is then reserved for a Youth Event 12pm – 4pm, which will include workshops on DJ and MC-ing, street-art and dancing etc.

Blackburn Rovers, who have formed an association with Eaves Brook to support the Neighbourhood Management initiative, will also be supporting the event by running football-coaching sessions throughout the afternoon to run alongside a number of other sporting activities.

Eaves Brook have organised the weekend of events together with the Bacup Consortium, Elevate, Groundwork, the Halsall Lloyd Partnership, Lancashire County Council Youth & Community, Rossendale Borough Council, Youth Works and Rossendale Leisure Trust Ltd.

All events will take place at Bacup Leisure Hall, Burnley Road and entry is free.
