The Neighbourhood Management Team of local housing association Eaves Brook, last week carried out three environmental ‘clean-ups’ with the aim of making the local area a tidier, safer place for residents to live in. To finish off the week, a free Halloween party (PICTURED) at the Stables Community Centre, Church, was organised for Junior Wardens who took part in the clean-ups during their half term holidays.

Fifty-five children, who attended the Halloween party in fancy dress, enjoyed plenty of games, fun activities and food at the Community Centre, which had been dressed with spooky skeletons, cobwebs and pumpkins by the Eaves Brook Neighbourhood Management Team and the Neighbourhood Wardens, who also assisted in the clean-ups.

The clean-up programme involved: a bulb planting project at the Park Road Play Area, West Accrington; pruning of overhanging trees to the rear of France Street, Church Kirk, to make the area more visually attractive and to ensure that residents feel safe using the pathway; skips were provided for residents of

Bobbin Close, College Court and Shuttle Close, West Accrington, to dispose of any unwanted items plus Junior Wardens carried out a litter-pick of the area.
