Harvest Housing Group have placed antisocial behaviour injunctions on 2 residents from the Mere Brook area demonstrating their continued commitment towards ridding their neighbourhoods of such activity.

Both Carol Kerr, a Harvest Housing Group tenant and her partner, Ron Chapman, were served interim injunctions on 21st April, after Mr Chapman was found to have made threats of violence and used foul and abusive language towards other Mere Brook residents, including a prolonged incident that lasted 30 minutes. He was also found to have attempted to expose himself to other tenants.

Neither of the defendants attended the return hearing on 27 April, where the judge granted full injunctions against both.

Cathy Bennett, Community Safety Manager at Harvest Housing Group comments:

“ We have a clear responsibility to all our residents to provide a safe and peaceful environment and I hope that today’s outcome sends a clear message to everyone that such behaviour will not be tolerated.”

The terms of the injunctions are that both defendants must not be the source of nuisance or annoyance in the neighbourhood and are not to use or threaten to use violence. Ron Chapman has also been served with an exclusion order prohibiting him from the Mere Brook area for the life of the injunction.
