> Box Office Hit Comes to Birchwood
Local housing association, Frontis, have responded to feedback from residents in Birchwood, who are fed-up that there is no cinema in the area, by launching their own.
On Thursday 6th July, Frontis will take over Oakwood Primary School on Admirals Road for a one-night-only showing of the latest Disney hit, The Wild, which is currently at no.3 in the UK box office chart.
Bernadette Bell, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for the area said:
“The limited facilities, particularly for young people in the area, is an issue we are currently addressing.
The cinema project is just one initiative we are looking at to engage all of our residents and to provide family entertainment.”
If the evening is a success, Frontis have not ruled out making this a more regular occurrence, supplying more cinema favourites directly to the Birchwood community.
The Wild, will be shown on Thursday 6th July at 7pm at Oakwood Primary School (doors open 6.40pm).
Admission is free of charge but strictly by ticket only.
For tickets, residents need to call into the Frontis Office on Benson Road -01925 856 680.
Children and young people under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
