> Injunction Served After Threats on D & S Staff
An antisocial behaviour injunction order has been placed on the partner of a local resident, by Derwent & Solway Housing Association, after verbal and threatening behaviour was used towards staff and contractors of the organisation.
Mr Stephen George was visiting the Hillside area of Maryport when the incident happened last month. D & S immediately applied for an interim injunction at Whitehaven County Court, which was granted with a power of arrest attached.
On Wednesday (5th July) a full order was secured, which will be in place for 12 months.
Cathy Bennett, Community Safety Manager for Derwent & Solway comments:
“We take any incident of threatening or abusive behaviour towards any of our staff, contractors or tenants extremely seriously and we take a clear and firm stance that it will not be tolerated in any of our neighbourhoods.”
The terms of the injunction include prohibiting Mr George from his partner’s address on Hillside, and forbidding him from engaging in threatening, abusive or violent behaviour. If Mr George is found breaking any of the terms of his injunction he will immediately be arrested.
