A Sheltered Housing Scheme, based at Hynd Brook House in Accrington, is holding an Open Day on Friday 21 July from 10.30am to provide an informal and relaxed view of their facilities.

Hynd Brook House is owned by local housing association Eaves Brook and is located on Dale Street in Accrington and they are inviting anyone who may be interested in the scheme to come along and have a look around.

On the day, as well as a guided tour, there will be games such as Name the Teddy, and guess the number of Jelly Babies in the Jar. There will also be face painting, children’s goodie bags and home made pie and peas for anyone feeling peckish.

Marie McAteer from Eaves Brook says:

“The open day is for anyone interested to have a look around at the accommodation and services we offer. There are plenty of family-orientated activities happening throughout the day so parents with young children won’t have a problem keeping them entertained. We are here to answer any questions so please feel free to visit us.”

Prizes for the raffle have been donated by the likes of the Looking Good Salon, who have given vouchers, Door Step Grocery, who have supplied a food hamper (courtesy of Nicola), and Glynn Web who have donated a Lynda Barker Bed Set. Other goodies on offer are a DVD player and bottles of spirits kindly given by the 24-hour onsite Care Team at Hynd Brook, and one kind resident put a donation of £20 into the pot, with which M & S vouchers have been bought.

Weather permitting, the activities will be held in the gardens but will be moved to the lounge of the accommodation if the rain makes an appearance.

The scheme, which includes 29 flats and 1 emergency flat, benefits from an on-site manager 5 days a week and a 24 emergency pull cord system.

Full details of the accommodation will be available at the open day and visitors are welcome to stay for as long or as little as they like.
