> Harvest has been awarded the maximum 4 green lights by the Housing Corporation’s assessment
Harvest Housing Group has been awarded the maximum 4 green lights by the Housing Corporation’s assessment.
Harvest’s innovation as an organisation with a strong neighbourhood focus has been recognised along with its long-term extensive investment in its stock, both of which have resulted in an increase in sustainable neighbourhoods Group-wide.
Comment was also made of the significant amount of housing that Harvest develops through non-grant funded projects.
Ian Perry, Chief Executive of Harvest Housing Group said of the assessment:
“It is always pleasing when others recognise your commitment to the quality of services you provide to tenants and the wider community, especially when this recognition comes from your regulator.”
The Housing Corporation’s assessment made specific note of Harvest’s ‘well-developed community involvement and engagement’, a key element of Harvest’s approach and also their proactive approach in ‘driving efficiency and leveraging funds’ into its neighbourhoods, having delivered projects totalling £7.7 million across the Group between 2003/6, from revenue and match funding.
At a more strategic level the report commended Harvest’s ‘effective working partnerships’, such as their involvement with the first Government-funded Private Finance Initiative (PFI), Grove Village Limited, as a consortium member regenerating the housing and commercial centre of a deprived area of inner-city Manchester.
Ian Perry adds:
“The 4 Green Lights we have been awarded is a credit to all our staff across the Group and thanks must go to them for their hard work and commitment to Harvest.”
Harvest is continually building and improving upon the tenant and community services they offer to become a viable and preferred option in the affordable housing sector.
