> Harvest Announce Launch of Community Awards
Harvest Housing Group, are this week launching their own community awards to recognise the special and exceptional people they have living and working in their neighbourhoods.
The Montgomery Community Awards will become a lasting legacy to the Group’s Chairman, Lady Joyce Montgomery, who will be standing down from the role at the end of this month after 20 years in the role.
She first joined the board in 1982 (when it was still known as Manchester & District) and became Chairman in 1985. Since then she has led the organisation through stock transfers, mergers and paved the way for the creation of Harvest Housing Group in 1999.
Lynda Murawski, Marketing Manager of Harvest Housing Group comments:
“We have designed the awards in recognition of the remarkable people within our communities, who are making a difference to the lives of others every day.”
She adds:
“We also wanted to acknowledge the vital role that Lady Montgomery has played within the Group and to thank her for her extraordinary input over the years. The Montgomery Community Awards will ensure that her achievements continue to be recognised.”
Residents in all of Harvest Housing Group’s neighbourhoods will be invited to nominate anyone who lives or works in the community and who deserves to be rewarded for the work they’ve done and the difference they’ve made.
Winners will be announced at Harvest Housing Group’s Annual Seminar at Manchester Airport in November and the winner can expect to receive £2,500 to be spent as they choose to improve the Harvest community in which they live or work.
Two runners up will receive £1,000 and £750 respectively towards a neighbourhood project.
