> Partington Secures ASBO for Teenage Tearaway
Partington Housing Association has finally secured an Antisocial Behaviour Order on 15 year-old Neil Rainey, after a 5-year campaign to bring him to justice.
The Community Safety Team at Harvest Housing Group, parent company of Partington Housing Association, has worked tirelessly for this result after Neil Rainey’s persistent antisocial behaviour throughout the area in which he lives.
The ASBO has been secured after charges of vehicle theft, criminal damage, use of offensive language in public and in hearing of young children, and threatening behaviour were brought to Neil Rainey.
Cathy Bennett, Community Safety Manager for Harvest Housing Group said:
“This is an excellent result for Harvest and the whole community. It comes after years of collaborative work between ourselves, members of the public and the police and we’re delighted with the outcome.
Our priority is, and remains, the safety and well-being of all out residents and we continue to work persistently for their benefit.”
The terms of Neil Rainey’s ASBO prevent him from causing harassment, alarm or distress, from using abusive language, intimidation or assault and prevent him from association in groups of more than four in a public place. He is also excluded from certain areas of Partington and is prohibited from any public place between 9pm-7am unless accompanied by members of the relevant local authority or his legal guardians.
Breach of his ASBO could result in five years imprisonment for Neil Rainey and will remain in place until 5 February 2010.
