> Harvest Sign Respect Housing Management
Harvest Housing Group has today signed up to the Government’s Respect Standard for Housing Management.
By signing the voluntary standard, Harvest Housing Group pledges to help prevent and tackle antisocial behaviour, create a culture of respect and deliver good services.
Although Harvest already works closely with partner agencies to prevent and tackle antisocial behaviour, signing up to the Government’s standard means they will now work to a nationally recognised action plan.
Ian Perry, Chief Executive at Harvest Housing Group said:
“The Respect Standard now sets a blueprint for how housing associations and local authorities should be operating and one that we very much welcome. Tackling antisocial behaviour is an extremely important issue for us and our customers and we want to show our commitment in promoting Respect by signing up and becoming fully involved.”
The Standard establishes a structure for more effective responses to antisocial behaviour by drawing on best practice generated by social landlords and their partners.
Harvest and its neighbourhood staff are already involved in a number of initiatives in-line with the Respect Standard, these include:
• Citizenships classes in local schools.
• Antisocial Behaviour out of hour’s service and email.
• Family Intervention Projects that work intensively to challenge and change the behaviour of the most problematic households.
• Parenting programmes for families at risk of/or behaving anti socially.
• Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs)
• Multi agency ‘Beatsweeps’, two in Stockport and one in Trafford.
• From April 2007 Partington Housing Association will have Police Community Support Officers based in the local office.
