Derwent & Solway Housing Association are looking forward to recruiting two new tenant board members to replace two existing members who are nearing the end of their terms, and D&S residents are involved in the voting process for the first time.

Speaking about giving a voice to their residents, Director of D&S Robert Porter said;

“Board members are an invaluable part of any housing association. Here at Derwent & Solway the board are fundamental to the progression of the business, and are actively involved in the major decision-making.

It seems natural to allow our residents to vote for their favourite candidate and influence their neighbourhoods.”

Residents are being asked to vote on Paul Kirby of Maryport, Raymond Hingston of Workington, Brian Turnbull of Wigton, or William Weightman of Keswick, (see attachment for candidate biographies).

Voting packs for each resident are currently being posted out, and they have until Friday 29 June to register their vote by filling in the slip, and posting back to D & S in the pre-paid envelope provided.

The two candidates with the most votes will be selected to join the board as tenant representatives.
