> Ms Weston breach of Injunction
In April, Ms Hayley Weston violently attacked one of her neighbours leaving her with two black eyes and a bite mark on her back.
Derwent & Solway’s Community Safety Team took a swift and effective response and the case was in court within hours. An Anti Social Behaviour Injunction was granted and served on Ms Weston.
However, this week D&S returned to court with Ms Weston following allegations that she had breached the terms of her Antisocial Behaviour Injunction by threatening other residents in the same street, she had behaved in a threatening and intimidating manner, shouting and banging on neighbour’s doors during the early hours of the morning outside her D&S property on Needham Drive.
Two residents who witnessed the antisocial behaviour bravely agreed to be witnesses and appeared in court.
The judge at Carlisle County Court established that Ms Weston had breached the terms of her injunction five times in one weekend, and she was given a ten week custodial sentence, which included a four week suspended sentence for a previous breach.
Robert Porter, Director at Derwent & Solway said;
“No resident should have to experience this kind of abusive and threatening behaviour, and this case illustrates that the association will use the appropriate legislation to provide the protection against those who continue to behave in a threatening and anti social manner. We would like to thank the tenants who assisted during this case.”
Residents in the areas have received information about the injunction and can contact Cumbria Constabulary on 0845 33 00 247.
