The provision of affordable housing in Warrington is high on the agenda for local housing association Frontis, who recognise the subsequent economic impact and benefits to local residents.

They are currently in early discussions with local house builders about the possibility of supplying and building much needed social rented and shared ownership family housing in the Birchwood area.

Frontis Director, Lee Woods said:

“With the continuing rise in house prices we recognise the necessity for more affordable homes in the area, especially for families and first time buyers and are currently exploring a number of options to ensure we can deliver this.”

One of the options currently being considered for redevelopment is the Frontis-owned land adjacent to Ainscough Road although no proposals have so far been submitted for planning.

Lee Woods continues:

“We welcome the views of residents on any proposals affecting them and ample opportunity will be given for this should we decide to put anything forward for planning. “

Frontis can confirm that the land adjacent to Ainscough Road has not been sold despite rumours to the contrary.
