Buxton’s residents have been in a flower-frenzy of late, as entrants from across the town have been involved in a gardening competition hosted by Manchester & District Housing Association.
People from across Greater Manchester had the opportunity to enter in various categories including Best Young Gardner, Best Individual Garden, Best Tub or Basket Display, Best Environmentally Aware and Best Communal Garden and green-fingered residents from Buxton walked away with some of the top titles.
Jan Brown, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Manchester & District said:
“The gardening competition has fostered a real sense of community spirit and has helped make the most of the green spaces across Manchester.
“We were extremely impressed with the quality of the entrants and the winning gardens were especially good. We would like to offer our congratulations to all involved and thank them for the effort they put in.”
The coveted title of Best Individual Garden went to Mr Beswick, from Kinder Way, while Buxton also have the prestige of claiming Best Young Gardner, which went to 3 little girls also from Kinder Way.
