A fun filled extravaganza has been organised by local residents and community groups to thank and celebrate the achievements of everyone involved in the regeneration of the historical Hulton Abbey and the surrounding area, which is being delivered by Moorlands Housing, Stoke On Trent City Council, William Sutton Homes, Thomas Vale, Seddons & Hulme Upright.

Linda Dudley of Carmountside Residents Association said:

‘Regeneration of the local environment is down to a number of groups and individuals who have put their support behind the regeneration programme. The sense of community spirit here is fantastic, which will make for a great carnival this weekend.’

Hulton Abbey is on of the area’s oldest archaeological sites and has received around £240 000 worth of improvements to date, including fencing, seating, and lighting for the improved safety and comfort of local residents.

Moorlands Housing’s delivery of regeneration to the area is ongoing and the medieval carnival is a celebration of work done so far.

It has been organised by local residents including Carmountside Residents Association, Holden Lane Residents Association, Sutton Trust Community Group, ABC Residents Association, The Bethel Christian Centre and other faith groups.

The carnival promises to be a huge event including live medieval re-enactments, a carnival King & Queen, a parade, performances, attractions, competitions, a DJ and live music, refreshments and a whole host more.

Admission is free to everyone and it promises to be a wonderful day out.
