GM Procure, a consortium of social housing providers responsible for the repair and upkeep of 195,000 homes across Greater Manchester and the North West are making an investment of up to £150m over the next 4 years on its properties, which could mean a large share of business for local companies.
GM Procure are looking to build strong collaborative links with suppliers and contractors in the area to deliver works such as roofing, rain water goods, brickwork, DPC, wall ties, fencing, flagging, canopies, painting and cyclical repairs and associated scaffolding/access systems.
They are keen to help all potential businesses, from SMEs to larger companies and are inviting interested parties to tender for a share of the business across Greater Manchester, East Lancashire, Cheshire and the wider North West. Firms can apply for as many or as few parts of the £150m business as they wish.
Ian Perry, Chief Executive at Harvest said:
“We are keen to form true partnerships with proactive businesses of all sizes and want to encourage companies with a turnover of less than £1m in particular, who are eager to grow their business, to apply. A major priority for GM Procure is to invest in local businesses, jobs and skills and we have already developed strong links with Manchester Solutions, Elevate East Lancashire and ChamberLink as part of this remit.”
An open day will be held on Monday 8 January at City of Manchester Stadium providing information and advice on how to bid and what to expect.
Ian Perry adds:
“We are aware that the administrative burden of tendering for this business may be daunting to the uninitiated or previously unsuccessful but we don’t want anyone to be deterred from applying so we are holding this free event where specialists will be on hand to assist anyone interested with the process.”
The day will also include presentations, a Q&A and the opportunity to mingle with client representatives.
