> Junior Wardens Remember Remember 5th November
On Saturday 3 November, Crewe’s Blue Watch fire fighters received a visit from Manchester & District’s Junior Neighbourhood Wardens and talked to them about fire safety in time for bonfire night.
Last year the Crewe-based Junior Wardens were lucky enough to be taken on a tour of Crewe fire station and returned to visit their old friends from Blue Watch at the weekend.
Amanda Jones, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Manchester & District who runs the Junior Wardens said:
“The kids had a great time visiting the fire station and they learnt so much by seeing everything first hand. The purpose of the visit was to reinforce the important messages about fire safety, particularly in time for bonfire night!”
All the Junior Wardens are between 8 – 11 years old and as well as hearing about fire safety from Blue Watch and having their questions answered they received a citizenship work book on fire awareness.
The Junior Wardens project is a partnership with Crewe & Nantwich Community Wardens and aims to teach young people a variety of skills to promote community cohesion, respect and inclusion.
