> ‘Cheeky’ Harvest Boss Raises £1000 for Hospice
Harvest Housing Group’s Director of Older People’s Services, Martin Stevenson was arrested today…on the charge of being a ‘cheeky monkey’!
The housing chief was taking part in the Lock Up Your Boss fundraiser for Greater Manchester Charity, St Ann’s Hospice and was held prisoner in the nineteenth century cells of the Greater Manchester Police Museum for two hours. In that time, with only his mobile for help, Martin contacted numerous personal and professional contacts to raise the necessary £1,400 to secure his release.
All the money raised will go towards the hospice, which aims to improve the lives of people living with life-threatening illness in Greater Manchester, while supporting their families and carers.
Unwitting Director Martin Stevenson said:
“When I heard that I was to be arrested for being a cheeky monkey, I couldn’t believe it – I am totally blameless! Any photographic evidence to the contrary has either been specially concocted or taken out of context!”
He adds:
“Being arrested for such a fantastic cause was definitely worth it though. Thanks to everyone who supported me and helped me to raise the money – their generosity has been phenomenal and their donations will go immediately to the people that need it most.”
Harvest Housing Group is a regular supporter of a number of local charities and is proud to have raised over £31,000 across the North West to date.
