> Hard-hitting debate to improve North West Communities
Hard-hitting issues such as crime, health, the economy, housing and regeneration will be tackled at the North West Communities Debate later this month, hosted by Harvest Housing Group, and the organisation’s newly appointed Chair, Kathy Cowell, will be listening with interest.
As Chairman of Harvest, Courts Board and East Cheshire NHS Trust, Kathy places particular emphasis on the connection between good affordable housing provision and the availability of free healthcare on a strong and sustainable economy and is keen to hear the opinions of a number of other key figures within North West communities on other areas of importance such as crime, education and regeneration.
Kathy Cowell said:
“There are numerous elements which impact heavily on our communities and I am very much looking forward to hearing shared opinions and lively discussion about how all the key agencies can work collectively to best serve the North West.”
Harvest Housing Group’s annual debate will be chaired by broadcaster John Stapleton for the second consecutive year and will take on a Question Time-style format, with a series of panellists taking questions from the floor.
The panel will consist of Sir David Henshaw, Chairman of NHS North West, Chief Inspector Jo Rogerson from Greater Manchester Police, Michael Oglesby, Chairman of North West Investment Company MIDAS, Max Steinberg OBE, Chief Executive of Elevate East Lancashire and Harvest Housing Group’s Chief Executive Ian Perry.
Kathy Cowell adds:
“The panel is a good representation of the various organisations involved in developing thriving communities and, by sharing opinions, I feel there is much to be learned that can only help to progress our delivery within the region.”
Kathy Cowell has a wealth of experience within both the corporate and public sectors and has a particular commitment to customer service and helping to improve the lives of others.
Harvest Housing Group is a group of housing associations and companies that provide 18,000 affordable high-quality homes across the North West and beyond.
The North West Communities Debate will take place on Thursday 8 November at the City of Manchester Stadium.
