On Saturday 3 November, Crewe’s Blue Watch fire fighters will receive a visit from the areas Junior Wardens and talk to them about fire safety in time for bonfire night.

Last year the Junior Wardens, organised by Manchester & District Housing Association, were lucky enough to be taken on a tour of Crewe fire station and are very much looking forward to seeing their old friends from Blue Watch again at the weekend.

Amanda Jones, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer for Manchester & District who runs the Junior Wardens said:

“Seeing the fire station first hand was a brilliant experience for the kids and really caught their interest so they can’t wait to go back. We will be reinforcing the same important messages about fire safety again this year so they can make sure they stay safe on bonfire night!”

All the Junior Wardens are between 8 – 11 years old and as well as hearing about fire safety from Blue Watch and having their questions answered they will also receive a citizenship work book on fire awareness.

The Junior Wardens project aims to teach young people a variety of skills to promote community cohesion, respect and inclusion.
